Deborah Cruz is writer, editor, content strategist, and digital content creator. She got her start interning for CityLimits.org and freelancing for community newspapers such as Hunts Point Express, Norwood News, and The Mott Haven Herald. During her time at Norwood News, Deborah and her colleagues won an award for community reporting from the New York Press Club for continuing coverage on efforts to downzone parts of Bedford Park in the Bronx following major real estate interest for the neighborhood. It is Deborah’s keen eye for detail and curious nature that sharpen her skills as a journalist. 

As a skilled journalist and traveler, Deborah’s passion for world news fuels her ambition to travel, she is always looking for the next undiscovered place. She also freelances as a video editor, working with Meals on Wheels America and others.

She’s proficient in several audience developmental tools such as Parse.ly, Crowd Tangle, Google Analytics, Social Flow, Dash Hudson, and Hootsuite. For any tasks—social/digital strategy, reporting, top-editing, and writing—she’s your gal.
